Perhaps you already were able to download my Free E-Book on Inbound Lead Conversion. The response has been great and I am now offering a free webinar that will focus on execution and you can register for that HERE. Now on to today's post:
There have been many articles on our blogs related to effectively hiring sales people like this one Here and another one here on why hiring sales people should be easy. Dave Kurlan has posted numerous articles related to hiring, recruiting and compensating sales people and given the fact that we have helped so many companies drastically improve their sales recruiting process that shouldn’t be a surprise.
We have numerous tools available as well - recorded webinar on sales recruiting , there are all of the whitepapers on sales force selection and longevity not to mention the fact that you can now try screening sales candidates for 3 days as a trial.
What does continue to amaze me is how well the process works. Once again I was conducting some interviews for a client and although my goal was to provide him with just 3 final round candidates I ended up providing him with 6 – why? Because they were all so strong!
When as a hiring manager you have multiple strong candidates, that will actually sell for you and you can now select from a group like that - a few very interesting things start to happen. If you are in the process of hiring or if you have recently hired sales people, read through these bullets and ask yourself – “would I like to feel this way when I am hiring?”
- You can just focus on the personality fit and the cultural fit of the candidate because you are not spending the entire interview trying to work out if they can sell.
- You can focus on their work history and industry experience
- You can enjoy the interview
- You can waste less time speaking to non-starters
- You can feel confident about your selection
- You can stop just choosing a body to fill a chair and feel great about your contribution to the companies’ goals.
