Why the New Hubspot Web Grader is Good for Marketers and GREAT for Sales!

A couple of days ago Hubspot launched a a great new tool that will help companies grade their entire marketing efforts. This is a big deal for me because it is a step in the right direction toward sales and marketing integration and alignment.
Here is some proof that things are going in that direction. Just look at some of the questions this new tool will help companies answer:
Is my marketing more or less effective than my competition? (Competitive Benchmarking)
Are my marketing efforts generating enough leads and sales? (Lead Generation)
Is my web presence optimized for mobile devices? (Mobile Marketing)
How effectively are we using Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter in our marketing? (Social Media)
Is my blog driving results that justify the time investment or are we wasting time doing the wrong things? (Blogging)
What are the strong points and shortcomings in our marketing? (Overall Analysis)
Did you notice what I noticed?
For decades marketing agencies and marketing tools have been focused on colors and themes and fonts and branding – now we finally see something that is focused on results and on outcomes! That is after all what most clients care about isn’t it?
If this indicates anything it proves that consumers (your prospects and clients) are more focused on outcomes as well - or at least they will be.
As a sales professional do you focus on the outcomes and concerns for your client – or are you still presenting the features? Are you more of a talking brochure than you are a true consultative advisor to their business?
